
The redevelopment of the Beacon Bluff Business Center received addtional assistance from state and federal brownfield clean-up sources. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development awarded $950,000 in grants to the project; the Metropolitan Council, $300,000; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency increased by $1 million the Port Authority's allocation of clean-up funds, under its revolving loan fund.

Baldinger Bakery purchases 9-acre site in Beacon Bluff
Baldinger Bakery closed on April 1 on the purchase of 9 acres of Port Authority land on the city's East Side. The $450,000 land sale of the eastern end of the 61-acre Beacon Bluff Business Center ensures the 122-year-old Saint Paul baker will continue operating in the city for some time to come.

Port Authority to Raze 12 buildings on Original 3M Campus
On Feb. 4, bids for a projected $4 million demolition of 12 campus buildings on the campus, which served as 3M’s headquarters between 1910 and 1962, will start being received. After that, the buildings, which are owned by the St. Paul Port Authority (SPPA), are to be torn down.

Saint Paul's Former 3M Headquarters Renamed Beacon Bluff
The old 3M company headquarters on the East Side of St. Paul has a new name: Beacon Bluff. The St. Paul Port Authority also has a new Web site to market the former 3M campus to companies and lure jobs, BeaconBluff.com.
